Connected Items via Data Mapping

Overview

Connected item relationships can be created and maintained through data mapping, instead of being entered manually in the user interface.

This enables Similar Item and Replacement Item relationships to be maintained in the ERP system and seamlessly synchronized with AGR, ensuring new items automatically benefit from the sales history of these relationships.

Supported connected item types

The CONNECTED_ITEMS table can be used to manage:

  • Similar Items

  • Replacement Items

Once imported the relationship is applied automatically across all locations.

Why use data mapping for connected items?

Managing connected items through ADI helps reduce manual work and ensures that item relationships are maintained consistently.

Use this option when:

  • The connected items are maintained in an external source system.

  • you can avoid manually recreating Similar or Replacement item links in AGR.

How it works

Connected item relationships are provided through the CONNECTED_ITEMS table in ADI (AGR data interface).

When the data is refreshed, AGR reads the connected item data from the table and applies the relationships automatically.

If an item relationship is included in the ADI data, it will be created or updated in AGR based on the mapped values.

Important

If connected item relationships are managed through data mapping, ADI becomes the source of truth. This means that any manual changes made in the AGR user interface will be overwritten during the next daily data refresh.

Note: Only manage connected items manually in the UI if they are not being maintained through ADI.

Example

If Item A is mapped as a replacement for Item B in the CONNECTED_ITEMS table, AGR will create that replacement relationship automatically across all locations.

The relationship does not need to be recreated manually for each location.
