Order Settings

Overview

The Orders settings page controls how AGR calculates order proposals across your whole system: which demand is counted, how undelivered and sales orders are treated, how quantities are rounded to order multiples, and which order methodology is used. These are global defaults; changes affect every order calculated after you save.

This article explains all order settings available in AGR.

  • Applies to: some settings are only available with an Order Pro subscription. The "Available with" column in the Order Logic table shows which. The Automatic order adjustments section is Order Pro only.

  • Who can change it: users with access to Settings (confirm required role). Changes apply account-wide.

How to open the page

  1. Open the main menu (top right) and select Settings.

  2. Select the Orders tab.

  3. Choose Order Logic or Automatic order adjustments in the left menu.

Tip: use Search all settings to jump straight to a setting by name, for example "undelivered".

Order Settings explained

Order Logic

Setting

What it does

Default

Available with

Undelivered Days

Defines how many days back AGR looks at the delivery date of open purchase and transfer orders that have not yet been received.

By default, AGR looks back 365 days based on the delivery date. Any open orders within this period are treated as incoming stock and included in the order calculation, reducing the quantity that needs to be ordered.

Overwrite qty. on recalculate

When on, recalculating an order line overwrites any manual quantity changes made in the order grid.

—

Split Orders for Multiple Delivery Dates

Splits an order into separate orders when its products have more than one delivery date. For scheduled orders, this is set per line instead.

On

Exclude lost sale in warehouses (%)

For warehouse locations: how much demand during a stock-out counts as lost. 0% = no sale lost, 100% = all sale lost; values in between treat that share as lost.

0%

Order Pro

Exclude lost sale for stores (%)

Same as above, for store locations.

0%

Order Pro

Order multiple threshold (%)

How much of an order multiple the calculated quantity must reach before AGR rounds up to the next multiple.

0

Order Pro

Always apply order multiple threshold

On: AGR always applies the threshold and rounds down when it is not met, which can give an order quantity of 0. Off: if there is any need below one multiple, AGR still suggests one full multiple; the threshold only applies above one multiple.

Order Logic

The order methodology: Standard (demand based on Total Demand), Min/Max (if stock is below the reorder point, order up to Max), or Use min/max if exists (Min/Max where a reorder point and Max are entered, otherwise Standard).

Standard

Order Pro

Use Max Stock to cap order suggestions

When on, regular order logic respects an item's Max stock if Max stock is filled in, the reorder point is empty, and Ensure Max Stock is enabled. Under Min/Max, suggestions never exceed Max unless MOQ or order multiple rounding pushes them over.

Sales Orders

Whether open sales orders count as demand: Never (information only, except for special order items), Always (sales orders are added to demand), or Conditional (Sales orders are compared against the forecast, the one that is higher goes into total demand. comparison is made for each period: week or month).

Conditional

Order Pro

Without Order pro add-on, the conditional logic is applied and the user can not see this setting.

Include undelivered in order calculation

Includes open orders due to arrive after the current order period when calculating the order proposal.

When enabled, these future incoming quantities are treated as if they will arrive within the current order period, reducing the suggested order quantity.

When disabled, only incoming quantities due within the current order period are considered, which may increase the suggested order quantity.

Number of days past for sales orders

Defines how many days back in time, AGR looks for open sales orders when calculating demand.

Open sales orders within this period are treated as active demand, increasing the replenishment or stock requirement. Sales orders older than the defined period are not included in the demand calculation.

Pallet UOM code

Overrides the default international standard UOM code for pallet.

Tip: Lowering Undelivered Days or Number of days past for sales orders stops very old, stale orders from inflating or reducing suggestions. Check with your AGR consultant before changing them.

Order multiple threshold example: with a 40% threshold and an order multiple of 10, AGR suggests 20 units only if the calculated quantity is at least 14 (40% into the second multiple). A calculated quantity of 21–23 rounds down to 20.

Example with Always apply order multiple threshold off: same item, 40% threshold, order multiple of 10. Any need below one multiple still gets one full multiple, so the suggestion is never rounded down to 0. Above one multiple, the threshold works as usual.

The setting only changes the result when the calculated quantity is below the threshold of the first multiple, here 1–3 units. Turn it off for items where a 0 suggestion would risk a stock-out.

Automatic order adjustments

Available with: Order Pro only. Without Order Pro, this section does not appear in the left menu.

Automatic order adjustments are corrections AGR applies to an order after it calculates the quantities. Most of them are for transfer orders. They make sure a transfer never asks for more stock than the transfer location has, and they share limited stock between the locations that need it. One setting moves delivery dates that fall on a weekend to the next weekday. Turn on only the adjustments that match how you work.

Setting

What it does

Default

Adjust to available transfer stock

For transfer orders, distributes limited stock across locations. Example: 3 locations each want 100 units but only 200 are available at the transfer location.

Off

Adjustment method

How available transfer stock is shared: Stock distributed by location order need, Highest priority locations get their demand met, or Even split. Remainder put on highest demand locations.

—

Move estimated delivery date to next working date

If the estimated delivery date (order date + lead time) falls on a weekend, moves it to the next weekday.

Off

Adjust transfer orders when no stock is available

When the transfer location has no stock, AGR sets those transfer orders to zero.

Changing a setting

  • Toggle a switch or type a new value. There is no separate Save button on this page.

  • A setting that differs from its default shows a reset arrow on the right. Click it to return to the default.

  • New values apply the next time order suggestions are calculated or an order line is recalculated.

Tips

  • Change one setting at a time and check a few order proposals before changing the next. Most of these settings affect every location.

  • If order suggestions come out as 0 despite a need, check Order multiple threshold and Always apply order multiple threshold first.

  • If orders exceed an item's Max stock, check Order Logic and Use Max Stock to cap order suggestions, and whether MOQ or order multiples push the quantity over Max.

  • Choose Sales Orders: Conditional when large customer orders sometimes exceed the forecast and you want them covered.

FAQ

I don't see the Sales Orders option in Order Logic. Why?

Sales Orders is an Order Pro setting. If you don't see "Sales Orders" in Order Logic, your account most likely doesn't have Order Pro. Sales orders are still used: AGR applies the Conditional logic automatically, comparing open sales orders with the forecast for each period and using whichever is higher. The same applies to Order Logic (Standard / Min/Max), lost sale, order multiple threshold, Include undelivered in order calculation, and the Automatic order adjustments section. Contact your AGR account manager to add Order Pro.
