The AGR AI Connector is AGR's MCP server. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI tools such as Claude connect to other systems. The connector gives your AI tool a set of connector tools: small, specific functions such as search items or explain order line quantity. When you ask a question, your AI tool chooses the connector tools it needs, often several, and uses them to get the answer from AGR. For example, to answer "Why is AGR suggesting 120 units of item X?" it may first look up the order, then ask AGR to explain the quantity on that order line.
This article lists every connector tool that's currently available, what each one is for, example questions, and the limits worth knowing. To connect your AI tool to AGR, follow the steps in AGR - AI Connector.
📌 Before you start
You don't need to know the connector tool names. Ask in plain language. The names are useful when you want to steer your AI tool or report a problem to us.
All connector tools are read-only. Your AI tool can read your AGR data but can't create, confirm or change anything in AGR.
Your AGR permissions apply. You can only see data through the connector that your AGR role already lets you see.

💡 Tips for better answers
Use item and location numbers where you can. For example, "item BIKE-001 at location 01" is faster and more precise than an item name.
Ask why. Follow-up questions such as "Why is demand so high?" or "Where does this sale figure come from?" use the explain connector tools to show how AGR got to a number.
Use AGR's terms. Words like Safety Stock, Stock Health, Forecast Override and Undelivered match how data is labelled in AGR.
Check before you act. Your AI tool writes the answer, not AGR. For decisions about orders, stock or customers, verify the figures in AGR first.
