AGR AI Connector – AI Prompt Examples & Use Cases

Get inspired by practical AI prompts you can use to explore your AGR data, analyze inventory, identify risks and support better decisions.

Overview

Not sure what to ask your AI assistant once you've connected it to AGR?

We've collected a range of example AI prompts to help you get started with the AGR AI Connector.

These examples show how you can use everyday language to ask questions about your inventory, orders, forecasts and replenishment, or take things further by requesting reports, dashboards and what-if analyses.

How to use these examples:

  1. Connect your AI tool to AGR using the AI Connector.

  2. Copy an example prompt from the sections below.

  3. Adjust the details, such as item numbers, locations, vendors or time periods, to match your business.

  4. Enter the prompt in your AI assistant and explore the results.

💡 Remember: These are example prompts, not predefined AGR reports or built-in features. The results depend on your AGR data, the information available through the connector and the capabilities of your AI tool.

📦 1. Everyday inventory management

Use these example AI prompts to get quick answers about stock availability, replenishment and upcoming orders.

Check when an item will be back in stock

When will item X be back in stock? Show me the current stock by location and all undelivered purchase orders.

Identify items at risk of stockout

Show me all items with less than 14 days of stock cover. Highlight items where no replenishment order has been placed.

Find inventory shortages

Check Warehouse East for items where current stock is not enough to cover expected demand. Include supplier lead time and estimated days until stockout.

Review scheduled orders

Show me all upcoming and previous scheduled replenishment runs.

Find items missing from scheduled orders

Which items are not included in any scheduled order? Create an Excel list.

Cover for an absent colleague

User 3 is away today. Are there any orders waiting for their review or confirmation?

📊 2. Reporting and management insights

Try these AI prompts to turn your AGR data into management summaries, reports and presentations.

Create an inventory health summary

Prepare an executive summary of inventory health for Warehouse West. Review stock levels, forecasts, supplier lead times and potential stockouts. Highlight the most important risks and recommended actions.

Build a stock health presentation

Create a PowerPoint presentation about our inventory health. Include active and non-moving items, stockout risks, overstock, opportunities to release working capital and potential master data improvements.

💰 3. Identify excess stock and free up working capital

Explore opportunities to reduce excess inventory and improve cash flow.

Analyze excess stock

Build a dashboard showing where we have excess stock and how much working capital could potentially be released. Break down the results by item group, supplier, location and responsible buyer.

Apply your own stock cover targets

Show me items with more than eight months of stock cover. Compare them with a target of four months and AGR's calculated overstock.

Identify non-moving items

Find items that have had no sales in the last 90 days. Include current stock quantity, stock value and responsible buyer.

📈 4. Create dashboards for daily monitoring

Ask your AI assistant to organize AGR data into visual dashboards that help you focus on what needs attention.

Daily order monitoring

Create a daily order monitoring dashboard showing orders waiting for review, grouped by responsible user. Include items at risk of stockout and distinguish between items with incoming orders and those without.

Example follow-up prompt

Can you make this dashboard refresh every morning and provide a shareable link for my team?

Scheduled refreshes and sharing depend on the capabilities and configuration of your AI tool.

👥 5. Review team activity and improve processes

Try these prompts to explore how your team works and identify opportunities to improve replenishment settings.

Review order activity

Show me which users have created, modified or confirmed orders during the last 30 days. Group the results by user and day.

Identify frequent manual adjustments

Which items have frequent manual changes to suggested order quantities? Identify whether order multiples, rounding thresholds, order periods or pallet quantities could explain these adjustments.

Review planning changes

Show me recent changes to Sales Plans and Promotions, including who made the changes, when they were made and the values involved.

Historical planning change analysis may be limited by the data currently available through the connector.

🚚 6. Monitor supply risks and customer demand

Use these example prompts to understand potential shortages and how incoming deliveries affect your ability to meet demand.

Track incoming and overdue orders

Create an overview of undelivered purchase and transfer orders. Highlight overdue deliveries and items where stock is expected to run out before the next delivery arrives.

Check customer order coverage

Review open sales orders and identify which orders can be covered by current stock and incoming deliveries. Highlight any expected shortages.

Review BOM component requirements

Show expected demand for BOM parent items next month. Calculate the component requirements and compare them with stock on hand and incoming orders. Highlight potential component shortages.

🔮 7. Explore what-if scenarios

Ask AI to help you explore how changes in demand or supplier performance could affect your inventory.

Simulate increased demand and supplier delays

What would happen if demand increased by 20% and supplier lead times increased by two weeks? Focus on AA items in Warehouse East. Compare the current situation with the scenario and identify additional stockout risks.

Example follow-up prompt – Build a simulation

Turn this analysis into a simulation where I can adjust demand increases, lead times, suppliers, ABC classes and locations. Show the impact on stock availability and potential shortages.

These are AI-generated scenarios based on available data and assumptions. They do not change AGR's forecasts, replenishment calculations or settings.

💡 Get more from your AI prompts

You don't need to get everything into your first prompt.

Start with a question and build on the response.

For example, start with:

Show me all items with less than 14 days of stock cover.

Then continue with follow-up prompts:

Show only AA items.

Which of these items have no incoming orders?

Sort them by the earliest expected stockout date.

Create an Excel report for the purchasing team.

You can also ask your AI assistant to explain its findings, visualize the results or suggest areas that need further investigation.

The more specific your prompts are, the more relevant your results can be.
