Take control of future demand with Sales Plans in AGR. Review historical sales, compare forecasts, adjust expected demand, and plan promotions—all in one place.
Sales Plans help you prepare for changes in demand and ensure AGR considers your plans when calculating replenishment needs, so you can have the right stock, in the right place, at the right time.
Overview
The Sales Plans page is where you review and adjust the demand AGR uses to calculate order proposals. For each item it shows past sales, the statistical forecast, your manual Sales Plan, and planned Promotions side by side, by month, week or day.
The Sales Plan is pre-populated with the statistical forecast, which AGR calculates from sales history. When you enter your own value, AGR keeps it and does not overwrite it when the forecast recalculates. Plans further out will eventually drive purchase orders.
Use Sales Plans to:
Adjust expected demand: Increase or decrease planned demand for individual items or entire item groups.
Plan ahead for promotions: Add expected sales increases so AGR can account for the additional demand when calculating replenishment.
Plan for new items: Set manual demand plans for items without sufficient sales history, as an alternative to AI Sales History, New Item Forecast Daily, or Connected Items.
Manage phase-outs: Gradually reduce expected demand as an item approaches the end of its lifecycle.
Plan at a higher level: Adjust total demand across a selection of items without editing each item individually.
1. Navigate the Sales Plans page
Go to Plans → Sales Plans.
Page layout
Everything you need to scope and shape the grid sits in the header and the toolbar above it.
Header and toolbar
The header and toolbar let you select which items to plan, customize the grid, and control how much history and future demand you want to see.
The sales plan opens by default at one location

At the bottom of the page, Total rows shows how many items are included in your current selection.
Set your planning horizon
You can plan demand by month, week, or day, depending on how much detail you need.
Click History or Forecast in the toolbar to open the period settings.
Choose Months, Weeks, or Days.
Set the number of historical and forecast periods to display.
Keep Rolling enabled to automatically move the planning window forward with the calendar, or disable it to select a fixed period.
The selected date range is displayed below the settings.
Tip: Use monthly periods for longer-term planning, weekly periods for upcoming demand changes, and daily periods when you need more precise timing.
2. Understand the data series
Each item appears as a group of rows, with one row for each selected data series. Historical periods appear to the left, followed by future periods.
Understanding the difference between the data series is key to effective demand planning. There are more data series available then are describe here, see Key data series in AGR
Series | What it shows | Editable |
Sale | Historic sales with adjustments that feed into the forecast calculations. | Yes |
Statistical Forecast | The forecast AGR calculates from sales history. | No |
Sales Plan | Your demand plan. It starts as the statistical forecast and holds your manual changes. | Yes |
Promotions | Extra demand you plan on top of the forecast or sales plan. for example promotions or expected spikes. | Yes |
Total Demand | The resulting demand for the period, which feeds order calculations. | No |
How the series work together
The Statistical Forecast provides the starting point for your Sales Plan. You can then adjust the Sales Plan and add Promotions to account for demand that would not otherwise be reflected in the forecast.
Example:
Data series | November |
Statistical Forecast | 1,000 |
Sales Plan | 1,200 |
Promotions | +300 |
Total Demand | 1,500 |
In this example, you expect regular demand to increase from 1,000 to 1,200 units and plan an additional 300 units for a promotion.
AGR uses the resulting 1,500 units of Total Demand when calculating replenishment requirements.
Current month and advanced data series
The current month is divided into two parts:
Past: Days that have already passed.
Remaining period: Days still ahead.
For additional information, enable Advanced mode using the rocket icon in View Settings. You can then select additional data series, including Forecast Override, which helps you identify manual changes made to Sales Plans.
3. Set up and save your planning view
Before adjusting demand, configure the page to focus on the items and periods you want to work with.
Select your Channel and Location in the header.
Choose the time period and number of periods under History / Forecast.
Use Filter to select the items, item groups, or vendors you want to plan.
Use Columns to display additional item information if needed.
Use Series to show only the data relevant to your planning task.
Open the Views menu and click the save icon to save your layout.
You can return to saved views whenever needed. Views shared by colleagues are available under Shared Views.
Tip: Create separate views for regular demand planning, promotions, new items, or specific product groups to make recurring planning tasks faster.
After you click save, or save as... Give the view a name, and share with the relevant people or roles if applicable.
4. Adjust your Sales Plan
You can update expected demand for an individual item or make proportional changes across multiple items.
Change the plan for an individual item
Find the item you want to adjust.
Locate its Sales Plan row.
Click the cell for the period you want to change.
Enter the new planned quantity and press Enter.
AGR saves your manual value and uses it instead of the Statistical Forecast for that period.
The value remains in place even when AGR recalculates the Statistical Forecast.
Adjust demand for an entire item group
You can also plan at an aggregated level, making it easier to increase or decrease demand across many items at once.
Use Filter to select the items or item group you want to plan.
Enable Total Row using the Σ (Totals) icon.
In the Sales Plan total row, enter a new total quantity or a percentage adjustment, such as
+20%or-10%.Press Enter.
AGR distributes the adjustment proportionally across the selected items, based on their existing planned quantities.
Example: Increase an item group's demand by 20%
Item list | Before | After |
Item A | 5,000 | 6,000 |
Item B | 3,000 | 3,600 |
Item C | 2,000 | 2,400 |
Total | 10,000 | 12,000 |
Instead of changing each item individually, you can increase the total from 10,000 to 12,000 units. AGR distributes the 20% increase across the items.
How monthly and weekly plans are distributed
When you enter a monthly or weekly Sales Plan, AGR distributes the quantity across the underlying days.
Where a Statistical Forecast exists, the distribution follows its daily demand pattern.
For example, if an item typically has no expected demand on weekends, those days remain at zero rather than receiving an equal share of the monthly plan.
This helps preserve the item's expected demand pattern while adjusting the overall quantity.
5. Plan promotions and additional demand
Use the Promotions series when you expect demand above your regular Sales Plan.
This can include marketing campaigns, seasonal promotions, special events, or anticipated one-off sales increases.
Promotions are added on top of the Sales Plan, allowing you to account for extra demand without changing the underlying regular demand plan.
Enter a promotion quantity
Open Series and enable Promotions if it is not already visible.
Find the item and promotion period.
Enter the additional quantity in the Promotions row.
Press Enter.
The promotion quantity is added to the Sales Plan and reflected in Total Demand.
Unlike the Sales Plan, a weekly or monthly Promotion quantity is distributed evenly across the days in the period.
Plan a promotion as a percentage of the Sales Plan
If you want to add a promotion equivalent to a percentage of existing planned demand, you can copy the Sales Plan values into Promotions and adjust them.
Select and copy the relevant Sales Plan cells.
Paste them into the corresponding Promotions cells.
Apply a calculation to the selected Promotion values:
Enter
=/2for 50% of the copied Sales Plan.Enter
=/3for approximately 33% of the copied Sales Plan.
Example: Add 50% promotional demand
Data series | Quantity |
Sales Plan | 1,000 |
Promotions (50%) | +500 |
Total Demand | 1,500 |
Important: Entering =+10% directly into a Promotions cell increases its existing Promotion value by 10%. It does not calculate 10% of the Sales Plan.
To calculate promotional demand based on the Sales Plan, first copy the Sales Plan values into Promotions.
6. Remove a planned value
You can remove a manual Sales Plan adjustment or a planned Promotion whenever it is no longer needed.
Select the cell containing the value.
Delete the value.
Press Enter.
The result depends on the data series:
Sales Plan: Returns to the Statistical Forecast.
Promotions: Returns to zero.
Edit the current month
To edit the current month:
Open the period settings and set the starting period to 0.
Change the time grouping from Months to Weeks or Days.
Locate the relevant period and make your adjustment.
For additional guidance, see Deleting a planned value in Promotions or Sales Plan.
7. Copy and paste plans from Excel
If you prepare demand plans outside AGR, you can copy values directly from Excel into the Sales Plans grid.
For a successful paste:
Prepare your Excel spreadsheet with the same time periods and item order as the AGR grid.
In AGR, filter the grid to match the items in your spreadsheet.
you can use the item no filter for a list of items
Under Series, hide all data series except the one you want to update, such as Sales Plan.
Copy the planned values from Excel.
Select the top-left destination cell in AGR.
Press Ctrl + V to paste the values.
Important: Make sure the items, their order, and the time periods match before pasting. This helps ensure values are assigned to the correct items and periods.
8. Export your Sales Plans
You can export the grid for further analysis, sharing, or offline planning.
Click the Export icon in the page header.
Select Excel or CSV.
Export the grid.
9. Add Comments
you can right click on any green editable cell and add a comment to the planning or sale adjustments you are making
The cell will show an indication of a comment.
when the mouse hovers over the cell, the comment appears
the item history logs every comment made.
10. Tips for effective demand planning
Review manual plans regularly
AGR preserves manual Sales Plan values when the Statistical Forecast recalculates.
This is useful when you have specific knowledge about future demand, but it also means that older adjustments can remain in place.
Review future plans regularly, especially when market conditions, customer expectations, or product strategies change.
Correct unusual sales history instead of future demand
If a one-off sales spike or dip is distorting the Statistical Forecast, consider adjusting the Sale history rather than repeatedly changing the Sales Plan.
Correcting historical demand helps AGR generate a more representative Statistical Forecast going forward.
Plan demand for new items
For items without sufficient sales history, you can manually enter a Sales Plan until reliable demand patterns develop.
Depending on your setup, you can also use AI Sales History, New Item Forecast Daily, or Connected Items to support demand forecasting for new or replacement items.
Manage items approaching phase-out
When an item is being discontinued, gradually reduce its Sales Plan to reflect the expected decline in demand.
Alternatively, use the Forecast End Date setting on the Item Card when you want to stop forecasting demand beyond a specific date.
Find items with manual Sales Plan adjustments
To identify manually adjusted plans:
Enable Advanced mode in View Settings.
Select Forecast Override under Data Series.
Search for values in the Forecast Override series.
This helps you review which items have manual plans that may need updating.
